| Video: Mob of Jewish extremists beat Palestinians in Jerusalem | | Ma`an News Agency -
"Israeli daily Haaretz obtained the video, in which some 30 members
of the Jewish extremist group Lehava are shown purportedly
assaulting three Palestinians during a march organized by the group
in downtown Jerusalem last Thursday.
At one point in the shaky video, the Palestinians, who are
reportedly all residents of occupied East Jerusalem, run into an
Israeli police officer, who blocked the group of Israelis from
approaching the Palestinians, and told the Jewish youths to leave.
The youths refused and continued to hurl insults at the
Palestinians." ca | 30/6/2017 |

have no solutions for the young couples. This is, therefore, a very significant step"

| Israel`s new `security strategy` at Damascus Gate to further control Palestinian movement | | Ma`an News Agency -
"Witnesses told Ma`an that Israeli police were conducting physical
searches on Palestinians, including women and children, and forcing
holders of West Bank IDs to board special buses, which had been
deployed across Jerusalem since the early hours of Saturday morning
following the attack. The “deportations” followed a decision from
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to revoke family
visitation permits issued to Palestinians to enter Jerusalem and
Israel for Ramadan, as a punitive reaction to the attack. According
to Israeli news site Haaretz, 250,000 Palestinians had their permits
revoked." ca | 23/6/2017 |

Al Ahram Weekly
"In September of 1995, The New York Times ran a story under the
headline “Egypt Says Israelis Killed POW’s in the ‘67 War”. The
story reported on the discovery of mass graves in the Sinai desert
containing the bodies of Egyptian soldiers, together with eyewitness
accounts of the killings... The story of the Western Wall was no
less troubling. Here, too, what happened to the Palestinian
inhabitants of the Moughrabi neighbourhood that was adjacent to the
wall has long been known and long been ignored." ca

| Gaza: `Jerusalem feels as far away as Mecca` Quota for exit permits for Friday prayer at al-Aqsa markedly less than 2016, signifying a “tightening" of the siege. | | Nigel Wilson - Aljazeera - When two buses stopped close to Bab al-
Asbat in Jerusalem on the second Friday of Ramadan, the elderly
passengers were quick to disembark and head straight for the Old City.
It was around 10am, more than two hours before the Friday prayer would
begin, but this was an extremely rare opportunity for Palestinians
from Gaza to pray at Al-Aqsa mosque and they did not want to waste a
second outside of the holy site. "We all wanted the bus to hurry up
and get to Jerusalem as quickly as possible," said Mohammed al-Bazz,
70. "We wanted to spend as much time in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa as
possible."-rh

| Palestinian official comes under fire over Jerusalem comments | | Daoud Kuttab - Al-Monitor - The holy sites, especially in the Old City
of Jerusalem, are a hotly contested issue regardless of when and where
they are discussed. At no time is it easy for a Palestinian leader to
say anything that deviates from entrenched positions, which both sides
hold. Rajoub might have stirred dormant waters in his public
statement, and he was blasted for it. This makes it even harder for
any leader to address this and other controversial issues in the
public sphere.-rh
