Ahmad Jaradat Hebron’s isolation continues unabated | | Ahmad Jaradat -
Alternative Information Center
"Two weeks ago, all the entrances to the city, except one, were
blocked with concrete blocks and iron barriers, severing hundreds of
Palestinian villages’ connection to Hebron. The only pathway to the
city that remained open was in the north. However, Israeli forces
erected a military checkpoint at the entrance to search civilians
and their cars, causing significant delays.Israeli soldiers also
initiated a somewhat new occupation tactic for Hebron – enforcing
age restrictions at checkpoints.
Four weeks ago, in the Hebron-area villages of Nabi Younis and al-
Shuyouck, soldiers prevented people under 30 years old from passing
through checkpoints. Similar age restrictions were enforced at the
entrance to the town of Beit Aynoun." ca

over the past two months. Hundreds who are suspected of involvement
in acts of terrorism and violence have been arrested in Hebron and
adjacent villages. Soldiers inspect about 1,500 Palestinian cars
daily before allowing them to enter the main roads in the Hebron and
Bethlehem region. But the ongoing violence may force the army to do
more." ca

Palestinians banned from land as Route 60 expands | | Features -
International Solidarity Movement -
"During the last three years, the Yasser family was allowed to harvest on this field, but this year they were not granted permission to do so. A neighbour who was picking olives in his field nearby saw the scene and said “they [the israeli army] don’t want anyone to go to this land anymore”. The family thinks that they won’t be allowed to harvest the olives on their land in the next few years, as it is strategically located a few meters away from the main road, route 60, between Ramallah and Nablus, and near the Huwwara checkpoint." - id
