"A few years ago, the concrete separation wall began to snake its way
through the valley, cutting al-Walaja off from most of its lands,
including water springs and ancient agricultural terraces. And then,
someone in Israel’s corridors of power came up with a brilliant idea:
to turn all this breath-taking beauty into a national park." - id

"Muhanna al-Masri, a school counselor, has written and distributed
an educational guide to help raise awareness among students and
their families and help them cope with the fear and stress many
suffer.“The continuous bombings and shootings from Israel cause a
lot of fear and stress among students,” said al-Masri. To address
this, he has designed programs to help students cope in various
ways, ranging from simple trips to the seaside to psychological
support sessions.Al-Masri was convinced that over time the school
could help Wala relieve her symptoms. Of course, he added, there is
only so much they can do: The fear is ultimately a rational one and
related to the “constancy, frequency and severity of the Israeli
violence” at the boundary." ca

The checkpoint regime: Israel and the fragmentation of Palestinian society | | al-Khalil team -
International Solidarity Movement -
"...the checkpoint-regime is solely implemented for this kind of humiliation and fragmentation: aiming to create a coercive environment that will facilitate forcible displacement of the Palestinian population. The checkpoints facilitate the expansion of existing illegal settlements. It allows Israel to eventually grab enough land to connect a consistent stretch of illegal settlements that are free of the indigenous population, the Palestinians." - id
