| Patients stranded in Gaza under Israel’s permit regime | Sarah Algherbawi - EI - “When I started interviews for this article, I quickly understood that my suffering is nothing compared to the suffering of those who have children needing medical treatment outside Gaza. Not only are they caught up in the anxiety of the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting restrictions, but they also face the Kafkaesque maze that is Israel’s military permit regime” [ry] | 26/10/2020 | |

| The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) calls upon the Egyptian authorities to release Fisherman Yaser al- Za’zou’ | Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) / IMEMC - On on 25 September 2020, Egyptian naval forces shot at a Palestinian fishing boat that crossed the Palestinian-Egyptian water boundaries and entered the Egyptian regional water. Two of the boat`s crew - Hasan al- Za’zou’ and his brother Mahmoud - were killed. The third, 18 years old Yaser al- Za’zou, was injured and taken into detention. In the 24 days since then, the Egyptian authorities provided no information whatsoever regarding his whereabouts, despite numerous appeals to both the Egyptian authorities at the Gaza Border and to The Egyptian President. PCHR calls upon Egypt to release him immediately. Noting the fishing boat was unarmed and posed no threat whatsoever, PCHR PCHR calls for changing the "rules of engagement" pertaining to Gaza Strip civilians who cross the land or sea borders and rescind authorization for Egyptian armed forces to shoot to kill in such cases. (It is well-known that the Egyptian and Israeli navies effectively collaborate in enforcing the siege and blockade of the Gaza Strip, though neither offically admits to such collaboration.)
