If only Rothschild were a settlement | | Dror Etkes--Six governments preferred to encourage Israelis to go and live on settlements rather than in the periphery of the country. This had a critical effect on the level of supply in various regions, and therefore on the prices of real estate.

The Boycott Law is Unconstitutional and Undemocratic | | Avirama Golan - Haaretz - It was apparently the swan song of attorney Eyal Yinon, a responsible jurist who had never - until yesterday afternoon - been slapped with that derogatory label "leftist." Yinon tried to explain to Knesset members that the contradiction between the Boycott Law and the principle of freedom of expression created an unconstitutional and perhaps even undemocratic anomaly, but in vain. | 12/7/2011 |

Right-Wing Kadima MKs to face tribunal over `Boycott Bill` vote | | Lahav Harkov - Jerusalem Post - Originally, several Knesset Members from Kadima co-sponsored the Boycott Law as they did other right-wing and racist legislative projects. However, several monts ago the party`s leader Tzipy Livni realised that this was incompatible with Kadima asserting the role of main opposition to the Netanyhau government. Therefore, the party went over to actively opposiing this law. Right wing Kadima KM`s, such as Otniel Sneller - himself a settler, hitherto billed as "a moderate settler" - are now to be disciplined for not adehereing to the new line. | 12/7/2011 |

Knesset study: No democracy has similar anti-boycott laws | | Joseph Dana - +972 Magazine - Some claim that the newly-enacted Israeli anti-boycott bill is similar to anti-boycott measures in other democratic countries. A Knesset fact finding commission, however, could not find anything similar in another democracy, and had to fall back on precedents from countries like Venezuela and Eritrea. | 12/7/2011 |

+972
"Right-wing extremists Noam Federman and Itamar Ben-Gvir aren’t known for their good manners, to say the least. Which is why it isn’t much of a surprise to see these two heckle Israeli Justice Minister Yaakov Neeman while praying at one of the holiest (and controversial) Jewish (and Muslim) sites around, the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron." ca | 1/7/2011 |

Jordan valley settlements double in size | | +972 -
Dimi Reider
"The government and the Zionist Federation casually double the size of the Jordan Valley settlement project, to very little attention from Israelis or the international community. Israel’s de-facto annexation of the West Bank’s only bridge to the rest of the Middle East takes a giant leap." ca

Israeli Minister admits state subsidizes public transportation for settlers | | Jonathan Lis - Haaretz - Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz confirmed Monday that the state subsidizes bus tickets within West Bank settlements, causing them to be cheaper than tickets for rides within the Green Line. According to Katz, the move was intended to incentivize settlers to use armor-protected public transportation within the West Bank, which would reduce state spending on stationing military and security escorts for non-armored private vehicles
