Settlers farming land Israeli army has closed off to its Palestinian owners | | Chaim Levinson - Haaretz - The state will have to decide whether the land belongs to the people registered as its owners in the Land Registry, or to those who received it from WZO. In the meantime, the state is trying to reach compensation agreements with the Palestinian owners.
Last week, Supreme Court President Miriam Naor and justices Daphne Barak-Erez and Menachem Mazuz, who heard the petition, criticized the state. “Someone decided to ignore [state] decisions and took rights in private land,” said Mazuz, while Naor noted, “I don’t understand how this can happen.” [bz] | 28/4/2015 |

Israel Mocks Europe Labels for Settlement Products as `Yellow Star` | | JTA - Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman suggested stamping settlement goods with yellow stars to condemn demands for special labeling in Europe. Liberman sarcastically suggested the move in an interview Friday with Israel Radio about a letter sent out earlier this week by foreign ministers of 16 of the European Union’s 28 member states, in which they asked E.U. foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini to promote such labeling in store chains throughout Europe.-rh

"The painstaking search took a long time, and in the meantime the ice cream melted. After a delay of about one hour, Maswdeh asked B`Tselem volunteer Raed Abu a-Rmeileh to come to the scene. A-Rmeileh filmed the search of the boxes and the ensuing argument between Maswdeh and the Border Police officer. Eventually, some two hours after the merchandise arrived, Maswdeh had no choice but to abandon the melted ice cream. He sent the shipment back to the factory, but suffered NIS 1,200 in losses." ca | 17/4/2015 |

" Boycott of cottage cheese is allowed, but not if it settler-made cottage cheese” | | Gush Shalom - "This is a deplorable ruling with far-reaching
implications” said Adv. Gaby Lasky, who represented Gush Shalom in
this appeal. “The Justices effectively changed the basic Israeli
constitutional law as we had known them, giving the interest of
maintaining settlements in the Occupied Territories a precedence over
the fundamental right of all citizens to Freedom of Political
Expression. In fact, the Supreme Court has been captured by the
political precepts of anti-democratic right wingers, giving its stamp
of approval to a piece of legislation designed to gag one side of the
political spectrum." ak | 16/4/2015 |
