Under pressure from Presbyterians, RE/MAX announces it will no longer profit from sales of Jewish settlements | | Mondoweiss - During its General Assembly this week the Presbyterian
Church called on real estate company RE/MAX to stop selling
properties in Israeli settlements built on occupied Palestinian
land. In response, RE/MAX CEO Dave Liniger informed the
Presbyterians that "RE/MAX will no longer receive any income from
the sale of Jewish settlement properties in the West Bank.” The
Church cautiously welcomed the statement, while "waiting to see what
this means in practical terms". Hitherto, the Israeli branch of
RE/MAX conducted real estate sales in no less than 18 locations in
West Bank settlements and Israeli neighborhoods in occupied East
Jerusalem. [ak] | 28/6/2016 |
