Colonialist Settlers Install Outpost On Palestinian Lands In Hebron | | IMEMC -
"Locals said the colonizers installed four mobile homes on the Palestinian lands, owned by several families, including Jweihan, Eada and Abu al-Halawa. They added that the Israeli assailants are trying to illegally occupy 70 Dunams of Palestinian lands, to build a new colony on top of a mountain that overlooks many neighborhoods in Hebron city." - id

Israeli settlers burn 300 Palestinian olive trees in Nablus district | | Ma`an - Earlier this year, the Shin Bet, Israel`s internal intelligence agency, reported a spike in Israeli hate crimes against Palestinians in 2018.
According to the April report, there were 13 attacks in the first four months of this year - more than in the whole of 2017, when the agency recorded only eight attacks -- though Palestinians report the number to be much higher.
Many Palestinian activists and rights groups have accused Israel of fostering a “culture of impunity” for Israelis committing violent acts against Palestinians. [bz] | 26/6/2018 |

As Israel Pushes to Build, Bedouin Homes and School Face Demolition | | David M. Halbfinger and Rami Nazzal - NYT - With the Trump administration providing diplomatic cover, right-wing ministers in Israel pressing to exploit that while it lasts and international support for the Palestinians focused for the moment on Gaza, a new ruling by a settler-majority panel of Israel’s Supreme Court appears to have freed the government to proceed with the removal of entire Bedouin communities on the West Bank. Advocates of the Bedouins say this would be a war crime: the forced transfer of a population under the protection of the military occupation. [bz] | 26/6/2018 |

Building Seizure Foiled by Palestinians in Sheik Jarrah | | IMEMC/WAFA - Israeli police attempted to evict Palestinians from two
buildings in the Um Haroun area of Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, in
order to give them over to Israeli settlers. However, the
Palestinian inhabitants demanded to see a judicial eviction order,
which the police could not provide. Thereupon, police withdrew.
Already for ten years, Israeli settlers have been actively taking
over Sheikh Jarrah houses, asserting a pre-1948 Jewish ownership (an
argument which Israeli law does not recognize with regard to pre-
1948 Palestinian ownership). For the present, the latest attempt had
been blocked, though the settlers are likely to try again. [ak]

BREAKING: Shin Bet Torture Transcript Published | | Richard Silverstein -
Tikun Olam -
"The entire settler movement is up in arms about the alleged use of torture against Amiram ben Uliel, the suspected ringleader in the infamous murder of the Dawabsheh family in an arson attack in 2015. It has secured the transcript of the alleged interrogations of the four suspects in the case and distributed 20,000 copies in synagogues throughout the Occupied Territories." - id | 20/6/2018 |

U.N. could update settlement blacklist prior to September | | Tovah-Lazaroff - Jerusalem Post - The Trump administration has warned that it could quit the UNHRC if the list is published. But on Monday, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein said his office would “continue its work on the database of business enterprises engaged in specific activities related to Israeli settlements.” The UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) had mandated the creation of such a list in 2016 and has warned that business activity with Israeli entities over the pre-1967 lines can be considered criminal activity under international law. The Colonization of Palestine: Rethinking the Term ‘Israeli Occupation’ | | Ramzy Baroud -
CounterPunch -
"The unsurprising death of the ‘peace process’ and the inevitable demise of the ‘two-state solution’ has shifted the focus from ending the Occupation per se, to the larger and more encompassing problem of Israel’s colonialism throughout Palestine.
The grassroot mobilization in Gaza and the West Bank, and among Palestinian Bedouin communities in the Naqab Desert are, once more, widening the Palestinian people’s sense of national aspirations. Thanks to the limited vision of the Palestinian leadership, those aspirations have, for decades, been confined to Gaza and West Bank." - id

Settler teens clash with police during evacuation of illegal outpost | | Elisha Ben Kimon, Yishai Porat - Ynet - The settlement outpost of
Netiv Ha’avot, built illegally on privately-owned Palestinian land, was today evacuated after the Supreme Court
accepted the appeal by Peace Now. Four police officers got wounded. The occupation authority made clear that after the settler
houses will be demolished, the land would be declared "a military zone"
for "security reasons" and would remain empty, and the Palestinian
owners would be denied access. Government ministers promised
the settlers that an effort would be made to "regularize the
situation" so that they could come back in two years. [ak] | 12/6/2018 |

Israel`s top court meets on contentious settlement law | | AFP - Yahoo! News - "The petition against the act, seen by AFP, argues that by
giving preference to Jewish settlers over the rights of Palestinian landowners it
breaches an international convention on Apartheid" [ry] | 4/6/2018 |
