ABU MUSA UPDATE (Please help)

Many thanks to those who have contributed: Abu Musa is so moved by your generosity, his only hope. This appeal so far has raised enough for his time in hospital (at 700+ shekels per diem), including amputation, CT and other tests. But now he faces the real test, and needs your help.
In the photos, you can see Abu Musa has had his left leg amputated, and is in much less pain as a result. Sent home by Hadassah`s Emergency Room last week at Mt. Scopus until he raised NIS20,000 for tests and treatment, he took out a loan -- having apparently had his only money, NIS6,000, stolen by Mohammed Mararga (a collaborator working regularly for Elad`s Silwan settlers), a theft witnessed by an Israeli friend of Abu Musa, and confirmed by others. Three days later, friends took him back to hospital, again resisting a security guard`s attempt to prevent admission to the Emergency Ward. Now he`s in Hadassah Ein Karem, moving from Emergency to Internal to Vascular to Orthopaedic and now back in Vascular Internal. The army has only given one member of his family, a son, a permit to visit him. His wife and others cannot yet be with him, but friends are working on this.
Abu Musa, like many Bedouin, is a severe diabetic. He has slipped discs and leg wounds caused by police beatings, dating from hillside shacks demolitions. But the CT revealed sclerosis in the area of the aorta, explaining why there`s no blood supply to his legs and lower body and why he`s lost 30 kgs in three months (weighing now only about 35 kg).
A heart test has confirmed it`s strong enough to undergo major surgery to graft a blood supply to his lower body. For it, he`ll need 45,000 shekels (about $11,000). So far, we have raised some NIS20,000; it would be wonderful if we can not only raise enough for the operation, but also be able to repay his outstanding debt and pay his children`s school fees while he can`t.
All contributions will be gladly received and will go directly to the hospital. Any ideas as to fund-raising are also welcome. We are trying Abu Mazen and health NGOs. But we do need help -- urgently. The hospital accounts department are breathing down our necks and threatening to stop the scheduling of the operation until he is in credit for it.
