Jewish residents took possession of another east Jerusalem home Tuesday, after its Palestinian occupants were removed in line with a court order.

Eyewitnesses at the site said police forces arrived at the Jabel Mukaber home at 8 am in order to secure the new Jewish residents and evict the Palestinian family that previously resided in the home.

As is the case with Jewish enclaves in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, the latest enclave is also associated with the Elad group.

`They removed the equipment and entered their homes with their security guards. On the way they attacked two of our guys,` Asaf Sharon of the Solidarity Sheikh Jarrah group told Ynet. `It went on peacefully and by 3 pm everything was over and done with.`

`The three-story house was home to 16 people, including the family`s father, a sick old man in a wheelchair,` Sharon said. `They simply arrived and established a new settlement here, immediately sealing off the entire house with iron.`

`New, radical settlement`
Peace Now`s Yariv Oppenheimer said that `the takeover at the Jabel Mukaber home today by rightist elements is an attempt by settlers to establish a new, radical settlement in the heart of the Palestinian neighborhood.`

`The Israel police and the government cooperate with the most delusional settlers,` he said. `Police in the city are motivated by political considerations under the guise of priorities.`

However, Jerusalem City Councilor Yair Gabai dismissed the claims.

`Just like I`ve never heard the Peace Now movement complain about the purchase of homes in Jewish neighborhoods by Arab residents, I expect them to show minimal decency and intellectual honesty,` he said. `I expect them to avoid their racist campaign against citizens who have a right to purchase an apartment anywhere in the city, with their only `sin` is being Jewish.`
