Farmlands bordering on settlements - troubles day and night

Don’t say we did not know #344

The Palestinian village Julud (near the settlements Shvut Rahel and Shilo) has suffered the violence of Israel and its settlers. The village used to have 20,000 dunums of land (dunum = 1000 sq.m); now only some 4000 are left. On 1st January, 2013, in the morning, farmers from the village went with tractors to plough their land. The action had been co-ordinated with the IDF. As they arrived, settlers from the outpost Esh-Kodesh started throwing stones at them. The farmers were forced to beat a retreat. At 1:30 pm, the IDF called them to return, to till their land, but as they arrived they were again attacked by settlers. The soldiers tried to stop the attack. One soldier was injured by settlers, and after a while the army ordered the area to vacated again. The next day, the army permitted the farmers to till the remote half of the area (away from the outpost).

On 3rd January, 2013, at night, settlers began sabotaging cars in the village. A resident heard noise and went out to see what it was. He was injured by attacking settlers. The settlers entered his home and injured his four year old son as well.

On 4th January, 2013, at night, settlers again entered the village and tried unsuccessfully to torch a home.
