At least 44 Palestinian political prisoners currently languishing in Israeli jails suffer from cancer. Palestinian prisoners with cancer are amongst 1,200 Palestinian prisoners with different illnesses who remain detained in Israeli jails.

Ahmed al-Faleet, head of the non-governmental Free Prisoners` Society, told dozens of relatives of Palestinian detainees holding a rally outside the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) office in Gaza City.
`Palestinian prisoners still live under difficult conditions in Israeli jails,` Al-Faleet said, accusing Israeli prison authorities of deliberately neglecting Palestinian prisoners who need medical attention.

Protesting relatives held Palestinian flags and photos of their beloved ones in Israeli jails.
These slogans were written on tens of banners outside the ICRC office in Gaza: `Our prisoners are in danger!`. `Where are the human rights organisations?

Every Monday, relatives of Palestinian political prisoners and detainees hold weekly protests outside the ICRC Gaza office in solidarity with Palestinian political prisoners and detainees and call for their freedom.

There is nearly 4,800 Palestinians, including 14 women and at least 320 children remain jailed in Israeli detention facilities in clear violation of human rights.
