Demonstration today, Thur. Apris 24, at 7.30 pm, Habima Square, Tel Aviv Oposition to the war and refusal to take part in it get ever wider, in a way completely unpreceddnted in Israel`s history. Already, 140,000 civilians and reserve soldiers signed a petition. decalring their opposition ot the war and theiur refusal to take part in or give their moral support. Today, Thursday, we will go out on the streets with the clear deamnd: end the war, get all hostages free by a agreement, and end the killing and unrestrained destruction in the Gaza Strip. We have wathched closelyt the telvised statement of PM Ntanyhau and reached the unsuyrpiring conclusion: he is lying. The terms for getting all hostages free remain the same: a complete end to war, and complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. It is Bibi`s govrnment which rejects these terms and it his government which abandons the hostages, preferring conquer Gaza, flatten it and slaugter its children. When the government abandons the hostages and kills innocent people in Gaza - we refuse and reject this war! Anyone and everyone who opposes this criminal war - your place is with us, this is the time to stand to stand up and be counted! Today, Thursday April 24, 7.30 PM, Habima Square, Tel Aviv Since October 7, 2023, the lives of all of us are an ongoing nightmare.All of us - Jews and Palestinians, in Israel, Gaza Strip and West Bank - as well as the inhabitants of South Lebanon - have expriecned unprecdented violence, loss and horror. We deeply mourn the loss of life throughout the country, from the terrible Hamas attack on October 7 and the horrible war which the government of Israel launched in revenge. We all enrraged by our leaders` refusal to sign a deal which would return the hiostages and end the war. We all know: every life which is cut off is a tragedy. In the war which we experience since October 7, it is innocent civilians, childen and even tiny babies who pay the most terrible price. The inhabitants of Gaza have expeienced endless bombings and bombarments. In the West Bank, the army opreations and settler violence have become ever more frenquent, dangerous and destructive, freedom of movement is curtailed, and thousands of Palstinians were placed in detention without trial. Many Israelis ecacuated from their homes in the north and south still wait for the chance to come back. This hostrages, whose return was long since expected, still languish in Gaza captivity. Also inside Israel, Palestinians with Israeli citizenship are sistematically presecuted and silenced, defamed and losong their jobs for daring to express their opinions. Our message is simple and clear: we can stop the horror! We know there is another way. Military opreations neverr gave Israelis any enduring security or calm, and just increased the destruction, oppression and loss of Palestinian lives. Wars never really end - the end of a war just starts the countdown towards the next war, which will be just as futile. In the two peoples, those who desire war revel in this situation, but the vast majority are the abosolute losers. It is possible to live otherwise! It is possible to provide a safe space to all who live in this country. The occupation of the West Bank, the siege and destruction of Gaza, must end - not only becuase they are brutal and oppressive to Palestinians, but also becuase the undermine the Israelis` need for long term security. Occupation, siege and destructive warfare must be replaced by an agreed political solution- Israeli-Palestinian peace. We are building a greassroots movement of Jewish and Palestinian citizens in Israel who do blieve that such a common future is possible - and the urgent first step is an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, release of the hostages, the Israeli army`s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and the preservation of innocent lives in Gaza.
