The Q&A after the screening will be held in the absence of any Jahalin West Bank ID holders, who may not enter Jerusalem for any such occasion. We anticipate showing the film in other venues, and hopefully Jahalin speakers will present their case in person. Please take this letter as an invitation to contact us if you would like to arrange such a screening; we are especially keen to show it in Tel Aviv and Ramallah. The Jahalin Association is also delighted to launch its website www.jahalin.org, where you may watch the film online. Resource materials and news about the Jahalin are available there, as is our Twitter feed, and tabs to contact us or donate to this cause. The website represents the definitive online support system for the Jahalin`s campaign to remain on land they have lived on since being forcibly displaced from their lands in the Negev Desert in 1951, by Israeli forces. Lands to which they would dearly love to return, as the preferred solution. The Jahalin Association is now in development stage: funding will allow us to register the organisation (with Bedouin Protection Committee as board members) and carry out a legal advocacy project, with a healthcare component, to support the community`s campaign against the forced displacement. Once fully registered, the community will be capacity raised to conduct other projects. Since they have so little, the sky is the limit. My relationship with the Jahalin goes back 10 years, via English lessons to a Jahalin undergraduate female student, to the Jahalin Working Group, to building of the school (which SIVMO, a Dutch NGO and French solidarity activists generously helped to fund), to the hospitalisation of Jahalin mukhtar Abu Musa (many of you generously covered the costs of his 3-week stay in Hadassah Hospital) and the current advocacy campaign against displacement. This campaign is at the heart of The Jahalin Association`s project.
